Drawing a Day: Week One Roundup

I'm seeing if I can draw/sketch something almost every day this year.

Here's what came from the first week: my husband's angry stomach, a pregnancy/birth reference, an elf (because of Skyrim), and Illustration Friday theme "edge."

camp pikaland work

(I'm post-dating this since it happened in 2012.)
I had the opportunity to take an online illustration course from Camp Pikaland spring of 2012. We had six weeks of assignments, and we had a forum where we posted our progress and final images. I found the diversity of classmates (from around the world) and feedback very helpful and inspiring.
Below are my final images. You can see progress pictures and more in this album.

Assignment #1 - foundations (color, composition, texture, light, subject)

Assignment #2 - our voice

Assignment #3 - learning from another piece of art

Assignment #4 - past, present, and future

Assignment #5 - chairs

Assignment #6 - maps

I.F. | Messenger

"And there were in the same country shepherds abiding in the field, keeping watch over their flock by night. And, lo, the angel of the Lord came upon them, and the glory of the Lord shone round about them: and they were sore afraid. And the angel said unto them, 'Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people. For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord. And this shall be a sign unto you; Ye shall find the babe wrapped in swaddling clothes, lying in a manger.' And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God, and saying, 'Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men.'" Luke 2:8-14, King James Version
